The Houston Astros have claimed outfielder Rhylan Thomas off waivers from the Seattle Mariners.

In a corresponding roster move, right-hander Hunter Bown was shifted from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Thomas, originally drafted by the New York Mets in the 11th round of the 2022 MLB Draft, was traded to the Mariners in 2024 in exchange for veteran right-hander Ryne Stanek.

In his brief MLB stint with Seattle in 2025, the 26-year-old appeared in three games, going 1-for-8 with a double, two RBIs and a walk.

This season at Triple-A Tacoma, Thomas has posted a .260/.313/.328 slash line with two home runs, nine RBIs and six stolen bases across 31 contests.
