Football expert Alexander Bubnov has weighed in on the heated confrontation between CSKA goalkeeper Vladislav Torop and his teammate Joao Victor during the 29th round of the Russian Premier League match against Paris NN (2-1), played at the Sovcombank Arena in Nizhny Novgorod.
“I still don’t understand… what did Victor want? Torop was just going to drink some water after a routine moment. There was absolutely no mistake on his part. Why did he suddenly, out of the blue, lash out at him—and in what language? Torop stopped, turned around, and it almost turned into a brawl. I have no idea what complaints he had against him. Only Torop or Victor can explain that,” Bubnov said in a video on the YouTube channel “Comment.Show.”
The incident occurred in the 35th minute when the Brazilian aggressively confronted the goalkeeper and grabbed him by the throat. Referee Andrey Prokopov had to separate the players.
