The Paris Saint-Germain Champions League final qualification party turned into chaos, with 127 arrests and 11 people injured, one of them seriously, the French government announced on Thursday.

The unrest broke out after PSG’s 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in the second leg of the semi-final in Munich. That result secured the French club’s place in the Champions League final, following a 5-4 aggregate victory after the first leg in Paris.

According to Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, 107 of the 127 arrests were made within the city of Paris alone.

During the incidents, 11 people were injured, including one person in serious condition who was hit by a firework mortar. Additionally, 23 police officers suffered minor injuries.

Nuñez condemned the violence “in the strongest possible terms” and assured that security forces would maintain “the same firmness” and carry out “systematic operations” to prevent further disturbances ahead of the final, scheduled for May 30 in Budapest against Arsenal.

The minister also praised the actions of the police deployed on the streets of Paris late Wednesday evening. He expressed concern over the “unilateral” announcement of a fan zone for the final made by Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire, noting that the location of the structure would still need to be reviewed by authorities.
