The Italian national team is set to play two friendly matches in June, against Luxembourg and Greece, both away from home. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, interim coach Silvio Baldini may include at least 11 players in the squad who have never represented the senior side before.
Baldini had originally planned to rest several key stars, but captain Gianluigi Donnarumma is not among them. The Manchester City goalkeeper has reportedly called the coach to confirm he will be available for the upcoming games and is ready to lead the team.
In defense, potential debutants include Matteo Ruggieri (Atlético Madrid) and Davide Bartesaghi (Milan), with Ruggieri having been called up previously but yet to earn his first cap. Other defenders who could receive their first call-up are Michael Kayode (Brentford), Pietro Comuzzo (Fiorentina), Fabio Chiarodia (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Filippo Mané (Borussia Dortmund), and Oneste Ahanor (Atalanta).
