According to reports from COPE, the Madrid club’s leadership has already decided to appoint the 63-year-old manager. The official announcement of Mourinho’s return is expected immediately after the end of the season.
Earlier, media sources indicated that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez held a video conference with the Portuguese coach and his agent. It was noted that the club president is personally keen on bringing Mourinho back.
Real Madrid is currently led by Álvaro Arbeloa, who took over as head coach in January following the departure of Xabi Alonso.
Mourinho previously managed the Madrid club from 2010 to 2013. Under his guidance, Real Madrid won the Spanish league, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.
At present, the Portuguese is coaching Benfica in Lisbon.
