Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s star forward, has opened up about the influence of club legend Steven Gerrard on his departure from Anfield this summer.
The 33-year-old announced he will end his nine-year spell at Liverpool and leave as a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
In a conversation with Gerrard on TNT Sports, Salah disclosed that the Liverpool icon visited his home to offer his opinion and advice.
“Yes, I’m happy now. I remember we had that chat, and I really appreciated it. I don’t think people knew you came to my house. I hope the dinner was good!” Salah told Gerrard.
“We had a great conversation. You gave your perspective, and I truly value that.”
Elaborating on Gerrard’s impact, Salah added: “Yes, I’m glad to leave on a high note now, and I think you mentioned that to me too—leaving on your own terms. I still remember those words, so yes, I’m content… it’s time to move on.”
